Twittter and Real Estate - Can It Help You Sell More?

I have recently subscribed to the Tech Crunch RSS feed which covers all sorts of tech news, of course it is more general based than real estate but it is very informative. Anyways they just released a few articles regarding Twitter. One I thought was interesting was that Twitter was offered 500 million by Facebook, and turned it down. Apparently the Facebook deal was largely “stock” using Facebook’s $15 billion dollar evaluation that they have given themselves...
Tech Crunch also have a nice article on how to increase Twitter followers if you have gotten into the whole twitter world.
Need an introduction to Twitter real estate?
Can You Sell More Real Estate Using Twitter
Main question right? Straight answer, NO. Not directly anyways. If you are just using it for straight leads, well...no dice.
But...I have found it a great tool for myself to keep up on new real estate marketing trends by following mostly real estate people. This means I get lots of recent real estate articles and tips in real time. If you have a good blog then having an account might get people to check out your blog and maybe even link to you in some way increasing Google ranks.
Your not going to wake up tomorrow and see your real estate sales increased 50% because you opened an account. If you want to be known as the top tech realtor in your area though, well you need to be on it.
I'm not saying don't join. The service is meant to be for fun. Yes that's right fun. Social interacting. So try it out. I enjoy it although I'm not living on Twitter like some people seem to be.
Real Estate Twits
How did I find real estate twits? I went to real estate webmasters fourm and found a forum post on Twitter I then went and added everyone on this list and added my name to the forum post so that people can add me. I also have a few clients that use Twitter so I occasionally glance on who they have. Then I add them because most of them are real estate “Twits”.
If you go onto my Twitter profile, most of the people following me are real estate oriented (although there are a couple of web developers and random), you can follow them if you want. Make sure to add me!
Tweet Deck Rules
I have found that Tweet Deck is a really good program to use to manage your real estate Twitter account. It’s free and helps you organize everything. I like how it tracks when people reply to you and you can organize by groups. For instance I organize by clients and then other real estate people and then web developers. Just keeps it easier to track then going to your homepage and watching everyone blurb about everything. Another plus is I find it a lot more cooler looking to use. Makes me feel less like a nerd!
